If you are new to cycling, the first think you will notice is just how many bikes are on the
market.
However, deciding on the right bicycle is simple. Think about what you want it for now -
basic exercise, for example - and what you might go on to do with it later, such as racing.
Once you have given it some thought, the examples below will guide you in making your
choice:
Road Bike
Lightweight materials and narrow tires make this bike
suitable for fitness riding, day touring and racing.
The aerodynamic position afforded by a drop handle-
bar offers great speed.
Hybrid Bike
The hybrid combines lightweight materials with fatter
tires, making it perfect for bumpy urban roads.
It is ideal for commuting, family rides, fitness riding
and touring.
Mountain Bike
The knobby tires, less-stretched riding position, and
specialist breaks make the mountain bike perfect
for off-road riding and touring, racing and
working out.
